This is a great reel.smooth castig.as well a good price.i use it on a 7/ 5 mh rod. My favorite walleye rod and reel.your crazy not to buy one.

DEFENDER Baitcast reel

I want to used this reel and really fish it. Man, do I get the compliments in how it looks and thank you for that! I have found that 12lb Fluorocarbon line works better than braided line. I seen requests for a Defender Pro model, I feel you would sell plenty, I would be one of them. For the money, it's a great reel. Is it as smooth as I would like it to be, unfortunately no. Does it stop me from fishing it? Absolutely not! I have it matched up with the Defender 7'6" MH casting rod and sends my swim baits a country mile. I never tried fishing it. I've caught several bass about 4lb and not a problem at all! Would I recommend this combo? A resounding 100%🇺🇲 YES! Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned fisherman, I can't find anything I can't complain about other than offering a Pro model. Did I forget to mention I would enjoy a Defender Pro model? You need to hear some 3 times before it's sets in.

I've had opportunity to buy this reel at my Farm and Home store. I have 15 baitcast rod and reels, but honestly the Patriot theme force me to buy 3 of the Defender baitcast rods. Presently, I was able to perchance the Defender baitcast reel at a price I couldn't say no to. So, I had to have the rod to match, right? When I saw the reel in the store, I wasn't overly impressed. It felt like many other mid range reel that's on the market today. I have to say, you changed my mind. My second bass was nearly 5lbs. I wish I could leave a picture of it. For the price, this is a great reel! Its being used over my higher dollar reels, that should say something, right? I DO WISH YOU come out with a DEFENDER PRO model or call it AMERICAN EAGLE or FREEDOM PRO in the $129-150 range. Please, put in your best reel inside the Defender baitcast reel. The one negative I have with it, it's a bit nosing on the retrieve. Oh, I liked the Defender so much, I bought a spinner rod to go with my other Defenders! Do I recommend this reel? YES! Great for a beginner or a season pro, don't over look this reel, cause you don't know what you are passing up!
