Love the Favorite rods

mid rod, durability issues, poor service

After a few years of very light use, the rod broke about 2 feet down landing a 7 pounder. Prior to this,the rod hadn't been through a lot and hadn't landed many big fish like this. Immediately after landing it I give it a light tug to check the knot and the rod immediately snapped.
Disappointing that the rod couldn't handle what it was made to do, and customer service wouldn't do a thing about it. Seems like other people have the same issues with the rod and poor service experiences. After a few automated emails that didn't get me anywhere, they finally got back to me saying the warranty is expired, which I understand, but a good company should back its products no matter what, especially when they break doing what they were meant for.
I have had better luck with Lew's who replaced my rod no problem, even though my warranty was also up, and the Abu Garcia Vandetta rods are durable as heck for the price. (their 6'9" spinning rod has lasted over 7 years of heavy use) I would spend your hard earned money on a better rod that has a proud company behind it that backs up their products.

Maybe it’s not defective

Saw another review saying the same thing rod broke in half while throwing a hollow crank bait bout 2 feet down from the tip as well

Great Rods

I have the Phantom in 7'0 medium heavy, 7'3 heavy, and 7'4 heavy. Great action on all of them. Overall just great rods.

Good rod overall

Bought the 7'4 Heavy rod overall, it is a good, inexpensive rod. I have used it for throwing jigs, t-rigs, and even was jigging with a 1 1/2oz spoon and it handled it very well. Had that paired up with a Daiwa TWS Coastal, and it has been performing very well. My only complaint is that i feel like the reel seat is not very secure. Sometimes I just feel like my reel is not as secure as my other rods, and I can feel it becoming loose sometimes. Also this rod is aesthetically pleasing with any reel (paired this rod with a Daiwa TWS Coastal, Shimano Antares DC MD, and a Shimano Scorpion 19)
