Fun and Pretty

My wife bought this reel and rod a year ago. I somehow managed to break the reel shaft.
I contacted Favorite and they had no problem replacing it! Absolutely fantastic customer service. For that fact, alone, I would recommend this reel. It is a good real.
It’s pretty and that makes it fun. People always seem to notice it. It draws a lot of attention.
As far as quality goes it is really good. I have reels that work a little smoother but they cost a lot more money. Bang for the buck and a company that will stand behind their product makes this , a really great reel. I would definitely recommend it.
If you are a very avid fisherman, who wants the best that they can get this reel is gonna be just OK. But if you take care of it and keep it oiled and clean it functions very well.Don’t over fill the spool it doesn’t cast well and extra line will fall off after lure contact. I have no complaint about the functionality of the reel .
And the warranty dept threw in a really cool sticker. I don’t put stickers on my boat but she looks good on back of the camper.

Not impressed

This was my first experience with Favorite. I purchased the Shay Bird spinning combo for bass fishing. It's pretty to look at, but the reel falls short of my expectations.

anti-reverse not working

Bought this reel and straight out of the package noticed that the anti-reverse switch doesn't work. Emailed Favorite around 6:30pm on a Friday night and didn't get a response yet, but I didn't really expect one yet. (It is now Saturday). Hopefully they get back to me on Monday.

not worth the money

it’s an absolute crime how much money you guys charge for this reel. I have a diawa rev ros that cost me less money and 4x the quality of this shay bird. In all honesty this reel feels like it should cost $20, i’ll never buy anything from favorite again.

Luke,

We are sorry that you feel that way. Customer service will be in contact to learn more about your experience and see what we can do to change your mind.

Awesome Drop Shot Reel

The Shay Bird is a great finesse style reel to use for drop shot or other finesse techniques. This reel is very lightweight and the anti-reverse works amazing when needed and the skeletal rotor system just helps this spinning reel in all to make it a great fit in the tackle lineup, and it goes great with the white bird spinning reel to make it a deadly drop shot setup to use for your tournament fishing.
