The Favorite Army spinning combo has a unique design that shows off our Favorite Army pride.

Built using ultra-sensitive 24-ton Toray carbon blank materials, these Rods employ MLS (Multi-Layer Structure) technology that layers carbon of varying modulus and fiber direction to produce a reinforced construction and improved torsional load resistance. In addition, an X-shaped carbon tape wrapping along the blank provides increased durability and overall power.

The guides are made of polished stainless-steel frames with nano-lite rings to increase castability and durability. Coupled with streamlined reel seats that fit comfortably in your hand and a reduced weight. This rod will keep you fishing all day.

The reel is 7.3:1 gear ratio and 11 stainless steel ball bearings make this a combo that is smooth and easy to retrieve regardless of what kind of fish is coming with it.

  • EVA Camo Pattern Split Grip
  • ACS Reel Seat Stainless Steel Guides w/ Ceramic Inserts

Good for the money

Good combo for the money. My son in law purchased this combo for me at Rural King for $70. Spoiled with 20# braid with a 20# fluorocarbon leader.

Pros: casts a long distance. As long as my much more expensive Lee’s reels. Easy to set up. Never backlash with any weight lures. Easy to maintain. I can’t find any other 8 bearing reels in this price point.

Cons: lots of plastic. Expected at this price but it feels cheap. It is loud when casting and when reeling. Worst con, there is a little plastic bump that rubs my index finger when casting. This has worn a sore on my finger. I can wear a glove or adjust my hold when casting but my other reels do not have this issue. Changing my grip changes how well I cast so that’s not really an option. This single issue knocked off two stars.

Overall..I use this combo quite often but not as much as my others. I would definitely recommend it for beginners or those on a tight budget.

Depression

I swear to god I hate this rod with all my life every other cast is a god damn birds nest. I’ve literally spent hours and hours trying to calibrate this rod. I genuinely want to cry with how bad my experience has been with this rod. Do not buy!!!!! Stay away! Spend those 100 on something worth the money.

Favorite Army Baitcast Combo.

I’ve had this combo for almost a year, and I love it. I have several lews combos Mach 2, Mach smash, custom xp and several other brands, I find myself reaching for this combo over all the others. The medium heavy seems a bit more moderate than a fast action but every rod company is different. I highly recommend.

Great rod, poor reel.

Rod is great but the reel shaves down my mono line. Will need to purchase another reel to pair with the rod.
